Kouhei Matsunaga grew up in Osaka, Japan listening to hardcore techno and rap music.
He studied architecture and started making music in 1992. His experimental approach to composing electronic music makes Kouhei's sound very unique. His list of collaborations reads like an A-Z of experimental music: Merzbow, John Watermann, Asmus Tietchens, Rudolf Eb.er, Anla Courtis to name but a few.
Surprisingly, for the average noise-listener, he sees no paradox in teaming up with Hip-Hop-artist Sensational (ex-Jungle Brothers) to produce the Album 'Kouhei Meets Sensational' (Wordsound Records) in 2006. He also runs his own label: Flying Swimming. Kouhei now lives in Berlin.
